With AB 1482 probably going into effect on January 1, 2020, per Governor Gavin Newsome, “California is about to enact the strongest protections in the nation. Because there should be a cap on how much you pay for rent. Because your landlord shouldn’t be able to evict you for no reason – It’s about time”.

Join other Bay Area rental property owners in this workshop led by Paul Getty, President of First Guardian Group, who will provide an overview of AB 1482 and discuss strategies being used by Bay Area landlords to cope with growing statewide rent control, along with real estate tax deferral and investment strategies for 2020. Tamara Darling of Capital Square will be presenting additional educational information about Delaware Statutory Trusts (DSTs).

Topics include:

  • Impact of AB 1482 with rent caps and just cause provisions on rental property owners
  • Real estate tax deferral and investment strategies for 2020 for rental property owners
  • Is it time to sell and tap into the trapped equity in your rental properties?
  • 1031 Exchange replacement properties that potentially increase income and minimize management
